After both being born and raised in the great state of New Jersey, Justin and Jenna’s paths first crossed in New England. Jenna had decided to move into the city after college and Justin eventually made his way there after some pretty serious globetrotting (Japan, VT, Denver…just a few small moves!)
Through mutual friends they met in Maine on a ski trip at Sunday River. They spent a wonderful year in Boston together, enjoying the outdoors, some good concerts, the aquarium, and amazing times with friends.
In June 2010 Justin made the move back to Denver, and they spent a year apart, traveling every few weeks and enjoying both areas of the country together. In May 2011 Jenna moved to Denver and their relationship just snowballed. Their first puppy, Kona, came home with them a few months after Jenna’s arrival in the mountains. They bought their home a year later in 2012, and 2nd puppy, Jersey – named after the great state that shaped who they are – was soon to follow.
On September 20, 2012 the two planned a night up at Red Rocks, to enjoy Jenna’s favorite band – The Airborne Toxic Event. With the help of Kay, at Williams Jewelers of Cherry Creek North, Justin was able to choose the perfect engagement ring for Jenna. After a beautiful sunset and during her favorite song (Wishing Well, how appropriate!), Jenna got the biggest surprise of her life, one question and one huge promise for the future!
They almost immediately decided on a New Jersey wedding, at the shore of course, a place they both loved and knew was perfect for them. Soon after the wedding plans, the newly engaged couple got another surprise – an amazing opportunity to move BACK to the garden state! The change was scary and leaving Denver was incredibly sad, but these two would never turn down an adventure.
The happy couple celebrated their wedding day in Stone Harbor, NJ on September 20, 2013 – exactly one year after their engagement – at The Reeds at Shelter Haven. The past few years have sincerely been a dream, and that dream seems to be continuing long into the future.
