John proposed to me on the 4th Anniversary of our first date. He hired a personal chef to come to our home and cook us a gourmet five course meal, served out on our patio. What a wonderful surprise, it was delicious, casual and romantic and a special way to mark four years! At the end of the evening, we exchanged gifts. John gave me a medium sized box, and as I opened it, a Rolex box was revealed… I was a bit surprised, for I knew that he had been spending a lot of time at Williams Jewelers “looking at watches” and there was one particular Rolex that he really wanted for himself, thus the reasoning for multiple trips to Williams Jewelers.
I thought to myself, as I opened this box “oh wow, he wasn’t looking for a Rolex for himself, he was secretly looking for me! What an incredible anniversary gift!” I opened the classic green Rolex box, but there was no watch. Instead, perfectly propped up on the watch band holder, was a stunning diamond ring. That moment was so surreal and so unexpected (I thought for sure I would know when he would “pop the question” but he remained so calm throughout the evening).
I was SO SURPRISED and so very excited! He proposed, I SAID YES and I am so thrilled to be engaged to him, to wear this absolutely striking engagement ring, excited to plan our wedding and to spend the rest of our lives together.
On a side note: A few weeks later I was lucky enough to be proposed to all over again… John’s kids, Makena (11yrs) and Jack (9), wanted to be there too when he proposed, so they set up a surprise breakfast at home on a Saturday morning and the three of them proposed and asked me to be part of their family, Jack made sure his Dad got down on one knee to do it… and of course I said YES YES YES (one for each of them).
Cheers and thank you Keri for assisting John in creating our engagement ring. I really love it!
