How we Met
Our love story isn’t a fairy tale; it’s better. It’s real. Oliver and I met my freshmen year, his junior year, at a coffee shop on our college campus. He spotted me before we ever met, and not knowing my name he wrote about me in his journal with an alias “Tornado”. Weeks later we met, and I instantly knew I wanted to marry him. Thinking he was “out of my league,” I always thought our conversations were just friendly; little did I know that he had plans to pursue a relationship with me.

After a few short months of dating, Oliver graduated from college and moved to the city. We dated long distance through various transitions in both of our lives; I studied abroad, did mission trips, finished college, while he worked at a summer camp and transitioned into real life in a city. We even ended our relationship at one point, with the thought of never seeing each other again. No fairy tale there!

Indeed, nothing has ever gone perfectly. Even our first date ended with me going home and having food poisoning while he dug through the trash at the restaurant trying to find the fortune he had read and forgotten to keep. We are both very real people, nothing has ever been perfect because we’re not perfect.

However, if there’s one thing that’s close to perfect it’s the love that we have for each other. We care deeply for one another, and this love goes beyond mere attraction. It’s rooted in a deep understanding of true unconditional love, which has been demonstrated to both of us by God in the giving of His own Son on the cross for us while we were still sinners. Oliver and I strive to love each other unconditionally with the love that we have received from the Lord.

If there’s one thing I can confidently say was perfect, it was Oliver’s proposal. I had no idea it was coming! Even minutes before he pulled out the ring, I still couldn’t believe that this was my proposal. The ring Oliver chose for me was perfect, it could not describe me better. I could not say better things about Williams Jewelers throughout the process. They weren’t just a company that my fiancé bought my ring from, they are truly part of our journey and our love story, and in the end they will always be a part of our life together. Thank you Dara for helping my fiancé pick out a ring that’s so unique and perfectly describes me; it’s a symbol of our unique and special love for each other.
