Tim and Alexis met in class at college in Michigan. Although they were lab partners and classmates for 2 years, they didn’t start dating until their last semester in school. They dated long distance for nearly 5 years as Tim finished his medical degree in Atlanta, and Alexis worked in south Florida. Tim was placed in Denver for his residency, and Alexis relocated to the city shortly after that in the fall of 2011.
As a part of a Christmas present for Alexis, Tim gave her a surprise weekend get-away to Devil’s Thumb Ranch, near Tabernash, Colorado early in February. Little did she know that Tim had already talked to Alexis’s family about proposing and had picked out the perfect Hearts on Fire diamond from Williams Jewelers.
One of the activities at the Ranch was a snow-shoeing hike up to a vista point that overlooked the Ranch and valley. Tim packed a back pack and they headed to the top, taking many pictures along the way. At the top of the look-out, Tim took out a fairly large box which was wrapped as a present for Alexis. The present contained a text book from the class that they had met in nearly 9 years before. Alexis opened the book to find several of the pages cut out with the ring taped inside. Tim asked, “Will you marry me?” and, shivering from cold and excitement, Alexis said, “Yes!” They enjoyed a picnic with beef jerky and champagne at the look-out before heading back to the Ranch for a fabulous dinner in the wine cellar. Overall, it was a great weekend, a great proposal, and a great ring from Williams Jewelers!
